Terms of service
Welcome to Daffodil. These Terms of Service explain the rules that apply when you visit our online store, use its features or place an order. By using the website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Please read them before making a purchase.
These Terms must be read together with our Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy, delivery or collection information and Privacy Policy. If a provision in these Terms conflicts with a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, the applicable law will prevail.

02 Using our website
You agree to use the website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not interfere with the website, other customers or our business. You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website, introduce malicious code, misuse forms or checkout functions, or use the website to infringe another person’s rights.
You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit is accurate, complete and up to date. If you create an account, keep your login details confidential and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
You must be legally capable of entering into a purchase transaction. A person under 18 should use the store only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.
03 Product information, images and availability
We take reasonable care to describe and display our clothing, accessories, sizes, colours, materials and other product details accurately. Product photographs are illustrative. Colours and appearance may vary slightly depending on your screen, device settings, lighting or the way a photograph is displayed.
Please review product descriptions, size information and any care instructions before ordering. Contact us before purchase if you need clarification about a product.
Products are subject to availability. We may update, withdraw or discontinue products and change descriptions or prices from time to time. A change will not retrospectively alter an order that we have already accepted, except where the law permits or requires otherwise.
04 Prices, promotions and discount codes
Unless stated otherwise, prices are displayed in South African rand (ZAR). The product price and any mandatory charges that apply to your order will be shown before you submit your order. Applicable taxes will be treated as required by law.
Unless a delivery fee is specifically displayed and selected at checkout, the order total is based on collection. If you later ask us to arrange delivery, we will explain the available option and quote the fee separately before you decide whether to proceed. We will not add an optional delivery fee without your agreement. Please see section 7 below for collection and delivery arrangements.
Promotional prices and discount codes may be subject to specific conditions, including an expiry date or time, eligible products, minimum spend, usage limits or restrictions on combining offers. The conditions shown with the promotion apply. Unless the promotion says otherwise, a discount code has no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
We aim to ensure that prices and promotional information are accurate. If a clear pricing or listing error affects an order, we will contact you before proceeding. If the correct price is not acceptable to you, you may decline the order and we will arrange a refund of any amount paid for the cancelled order.
05 Orders and order acceptance
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products at the price and on the terms shown at checkout. Please check your items, sizes, quantities, contact details and order total before submitting the order. You may correct mistakes before finalising checkout.
We will send an order acknowledgement to confirm that we have received your order. An acknowledgement is not necessarily confirmation that the order has been accepted. We will confirm acceptance when we have checked the order and confirmed that the products can be supplied, for example by sending an order confirmation or confirming that the order is being prepared.
If we cannot accept or fulfil an order, we will notify you and refund any payment received for the affected products. We may decline or cancel an order where a product is unavailable, information is materially incorrect, a payment is not authorised, or we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse. This does not limit any rights you have under applicable law.
If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible and quote your order number. We will try to help if the order has not yet been prepared, collected or handed to a delivery provider. Your statutory cancellation and cooling-off rights remain unaffected.
06 Payment
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods made available at checkout. Orders will normally be processed after the payment provider confirms that payment has been authorised or received.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment service providers. Their payment pages and services may be subject to their own terms and privacy notices. Daffodil does not ask you to send full card details or banking passwords by email, WhatsApp or social media.
If a payment is declined, reversed or not received, we may pause processing until the payment issue is resolved. Please contact us if you believe you have been charged but have not received an order confirmation.
07 Collection and delivery arrangements
At present, the checkout may offer a collection or collection-arrangement option. After receiving your order, we will use the contact details you provided at checkout to contact you and confirm the practical collection arrangements, including the agreed collection point and any relevant instructions.
If you ask us to arrange delivery instead of collection, we may discuss available options such as a third-party courier or an on-demand delivery service (for example, Uber Connect), depending on your location, the size of the parcel and service availability. Delivery is not guaranteed to be available in every area.
Any additional delivery method and fee will be communicated to you before the delivery is arranged. We will only proceed with an optional delivery service once you have accepted the quoted fee and any other relevant arrangements. If you do not accept the quote, the order will remain on a collection basis unless we agree otherwise. If you no longer wish to proceed with the order, contact us and we will handle your request in accordance with applicable law and our Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy. We will not treat an unaccepted delivery quote as authorisation to charge you.
Please ensure that your email address and telephone or WhatsApp number are correct and that you can be contacted. Collection or delivery timing will be confirmed with you after the order is received. Estimated times are estimates and may be affected by stock availability, public holidays, weather, traffic, courier operations or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where a third-party courier or delivery platform is used, its operational terms may also apply to that delivery service. Daffodil remains responsible for its obligations as the seller under applicable consumer law.
08 Returns, exchanges, cancellations and refunds
Our Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy forms part of these Terms and explains how to request a return, exchange or refund. Please read it before ordering. The policy is available on our website or can be requested from our customer service team.
Nothing in these Terms or in our returns policy takes away rights provided by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 or any other applicable law. This includes qualifying online cooling-off rights and remedies for goods that are defective, unsafe or do not meet legally required standards.
Where a return, cancellation or refund is approved, we will handle it in accordance with the applicable law and our published Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy. We will not insist on store credit where the law entitles you to a refund.
09 Personal information and privacy
We use the information you provide to receive and manage orders, process payments, contact you about your purchase, arrange collection or delivery, respond to questions, manage returns and refunds, and protect the store against fraud or misuse.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), and as explained in Daffodil’s Privacy Policy. Where necessary, relevant information may be shared with service providers involved in payment processing, website hosting, customer communications, collection or delivery. Those providers may process information on our behalf or under their own privacy terms.
Please read our separate Privacy Policy, which provides more detail about the information we collect, why we use it, who it may be shared with, how long we retain it and how you can exercise your privacy rights.
10 Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the Daffodil name, branding, product descriptions, photographs, graphics, website text, layout and other content on the store are owned by or licensed to Daffodil and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may view and use the website for personal shopping purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, publish, distribute, modify or commercially exploit website content without our prior written permission, except where the law allows it.
11 Third-party websites and services
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, social media platforms, payment providers or delivery services. Those services are not controlled by Daffodil and may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. A link or reference does not mean that we endorse every product, service or statement on that third-party website.
This section does not exclude any responsibility that Daffodil has for goods sold through our store or any obligation that cannot legally be excluded.
12 Website availability and errors
We aim to keep the online store available and information up to date, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Maintenance, technical problems or events outside our reasonable control may temporarily affect the website or checkout.
If a technical error affects an order or payment, please contact us with the relevant details. We will take reasonable steps to investigate and resolve the issue. Nothing in this section limits your rights where a failure to provide a service or supply goods breaches applicable law.
13 Liability and consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or attempts to waive a right, remedy, warranty or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. In particular, these Terms do not reduce your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
To the extent permitted by law, Daffodil is not responsible for loss caused by your misuse of the website, your failure to provide accurate information, or events outside our reasonable control. This does not exclude liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence where it cannot lawfully be excluded, or any other liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
14 Events outside our reasonable control
We will not be responsible for a delay or failure to perform an obligation to the extent that it is caused by an event beyond our reasonable control, such as severe weather, natural disasters, fire, power or network interruptions, industrial action, public emergencies, transport disruption or failure of a third-party service. We will take reasonable steps to notify affected customers and agree on an appropriate way forward. Your rights to cancel or obtain a refund under applicable law remain unaffected.
15 Complaints and disputes
If you have a question, concern or complaint, please contact us first using the details in section 1 and include your order number where relevant. We will make reasonable efforts to understand the issue and work towards a fair resolution.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising a right to approach a consumer protection body, regulator or court with jurisdiction, or from using any dispute-resolution process available to you under applicable law.
16 Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our store, products, services or legal obligations. The latest version will be published on the website with its updated date. Changes will apply from the date they are published and will not retrospectively alter an order that we have already accepted, except where required or permitted by law.
17 General
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent possible. A delay or failure by Daffodil to enforce a provision does not mean that we have waived it.
These Terms, together with the policies referred to in them and the order details confirmed to you, set out the terms applicable to your use of the store and your purchase. Where mandatory law provides otherwise, the law will prevail.
QUESTIONS ABOUT THESE TERMS?
